Grant Round Details

The Cultural Grants Program is an Create NSW funding program, administered by the RAHS on behalf of the NSW Government.

Projects should be relevant to understanding the history of NSW and its people and places. Grants of up to $5,000 support the work of historical research and publication undertaken by local historical societies and similar bodies across New South Wales. The projects should generally be able to be completed within 12 months (December 2026).

Cultural grant applications close at midnight on Wednesday June 25 2025..

When completing the form remember to save it on a regular basis. You can work on a section of the form, save it and complete it at a later time. Please complete all questions as instructed. This form must be completed on a computer using the online application form. Forms that are printed or emailed cannot be accepted.

Eligibility

This program aims to encourage involvement in and completion of historical projects of significance to the community.

Who is eligible to apply for an Create NSW Cultural Grant?

  • RAHS Affiliated Societies
  • Local community or regional groups of New South Wales
  • Organisations incorporated on a non-profit basis, with a commitment to one or more aspects of history
  • Individuals working alone are not eligible to apply. However, individuals may partner with eligible community organisations to submit an application
  • Local government bodies or tertiary institutions partnering with community groups to produce community-based projects may submit an application

Culturally and linguistically diverse groups or researchers working in these fields are encouraged to apply for support for projects leading to the publication of community history.
