This program supports existing large-scale contemporary music festivals presented in NSW that are currently experiencing financial challenges. Festivals must have a track record of delivering significant outcomes for contemporary music and have approved event capacity of at least 15,000 people per day.
Funding up to $500,000 can contribute to:
- government-related costs including police, medical and ambulance, and fees for NSW government-owned venues
- operational costs including insurance, venue hire, security, production, staffing.
To be eligible, festivals must:
- be presented in NSW
- be programming new and original contemporary music
- have music as the primary focus of the festival
- have approved event capacity of 15,000 and above per day
- have evidence of previously delivering festivals over 15,000 capacity
- have occurred in NSW at least five times over last ten years
- be delivered within 3 months of application submission
- be Australian owned or have part international ownership
- demonstrate/legally declare solvency
- not have NSW Government Hallmark status.
Please note that the assessment and acquittal process will require an ‘open book’ approach. Create NSW and an independent financial expert will require access to audited accounts and balance sheets.
